Drawing with Jonathan Skelton and Jo Sweeting

Jonathan Skelton, son of John Skelton, brother of Helen Mary Skelton, is an artist and drawing tutor.

He has taught aspects of design and art at Secondary and Further Education levels and now teaches drawing primarily in Continuing Education. Jonathan’s own work is varied, with artworks made using mixed media.

His interests in language, music and theatre and the themes of conflict and commemoration feed into his work. He has maintained regular drawing practice throughout his career.

The natural environment tends to be his subject matter, for which he usually uses conte chalks.

Drawing courses, from one to five days  duration, are conducted in a hall within a mile of the Skelton Workshops. All materials and equipment are provided. Materials include pencils, charcoal, soft pastels and oil pastels.

Course fees per person range from £85.00 for the one-day course including lunch, to £400.00 for the five-day course including lunches. Lunches will be taken at the Skelton Workshops.

The subject matter for drawing includes table-top assembly, landscape and life model.
